(Gal. 4:21 - 5:6) Ishmael was born of the bondwoman. He was born not of faith, because Abraham tried to fulfill the promise of God through Hagar. The law is not of faith (Gal.3:12). Isaac was born of the free woman. We are made free from the power of sin through faith in Christ (Rom. 8:2; Jn. 8:31-32). The law actually puts us into the bondages of sin.
